The asset you may already have

Years of real work.
A new potential market.

Processes, projects and specialist knowledge can help AI systems learn how businesses operate. Data brokering starts by understanding what you hold and whether you have the right to license it.

How data brokering works

Understand the opportunity.
Keep control of the decision.

01

Scope the opportunity

Describe the business, operating history, systems and broad data categories. We start with descriptions, not exports or credentials.

02

Check rights and readiness

Identify ownership, confidentiality, personal data and contractual restrictions with your advisers. Agree what, if anything, can be disclosed.

03

Explore buyer fit

With your approval, identify a relevant buyer route and coordinate an introduction. The buyer conducts its own assessment and sets any offer.

04

Review the terms

Consider permitted uses, exclusivity, preparation, onward sharing, retention, payment and brokerage fees before deciding whether to proceed.

A useful first conversation

Is your business a potential fit?

  • An established business with a meaningful operating history
  • Documented processes and information held across business systems
  • A decision-maker able to assess ownership and authorise next steps
  • Willingness to review the commercial, confidentiality and legal implications

These are starting points, not an eligibility decision. Each buyer has its own criteria.

Could our company data be worth six or seven figures?

Some buyers publish six- and seven-figure US-dollar licensing opportunities for qualifying datasets. This is market context, not a valuation or a promised result. Your offer, if any, depends on rights, quality, volume, uniqueness, buyer demand and due diligence. A business may receive a lower offer or no offer.

What does a data broker do?

We help describe the opportunity, identify potential buyers and coordinate introductions and commercial discussions. The buyer assesses the data and makes any offer. Your business and its advisers decide what can be shared and which terms to accept.

What types of company data might interest AI buyers?

Documented workflows, technical knowledge, project histories, process manuals and operational records may be relevant when your business has the necessary rights. Possessing information does not automatically give you permission to license it. Client confidentiality, personal information, intellectual property and contractual restrictions must be checked.

Are you an official Mercor, Handshake or micro1 partner?

The companies mentioned are examples of publicly advertised buyer programmes. Their inclusion does not imply an official partnership, endorsement, guaranteed introduction or acceptance of an Isle of Man business. We confirm the appropriate buyer route for each opportunity.

Do we need to upload data for an initial assessment?

No. Start with a high-level description of the business, systems and information you hold. Do not send client records, personal data, passwords or confidential files. Any later access or transfer needs an agreed scope and appropriate approval.

Do we sell the data or license it?

Many programmes use licensing agreements. Ownership, permitted uses, exclusivity, onward sharing, retention and deletion depend on the contract. Your legal and data-protection advisers should review the actual terms; anonymisation alone does not settle every obligation.

What does your data brokering service cost?

We agree any brokerage fees, referral arrangements, responsibilities and payment terms in writing before you commit. We explain relevant buyer-paid referral compensation so you can consider potential conflicts of interest.

Can smaller Isle of Man businesses qualify?

Buyer requirements vary. Some published programmes target established teams of 20 or more employees with several years of operating history. Smaller firms with distinctive, well-documented information may still warrant a conversation, but eligibility and geographic acceptance must be confirmed by the buyer.
